Blueberry the Bird needs a home

Blueberry was a free living feral pigeon who was badly injured & found grounded & nearly dead by a Good Samaritan. He took him home mostly just to provide him a peaceful place to die, never expecting Blueberry to live. But Blueberry had other ideas. He revived & though the spinal trauma has left him unable to use his legs, he is otherwise strong & in good spirits. He's receiving lots of great avian vet care so that we can heal up his secondary issues (trich, pressure sores, candida) & hopefully find some ways to strengthen his atrophied legs & improve their positioning (to be under him rather than trailing behind him). He'll likely never have much leg function but his wings are strong & we hope that we can help him achieve good quality of life despite his injury. He's a very good sport with strong chest muscles (his vet calls him Blueberry Beefcake) & is coping well with the apparatus applied to help reposition his legs.Please apply to adopt http://www.pigeonrescue.org/birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/
